The A.B.C.s of Me, or something like it

This morning while browsing some of my newest obsessions reads I came acrossed a post of Justine's about her name and it's origin a.k.a how her momma picked it.  After her encouragement I decided to link up with  Mama Kat's Writers Workshop too!!

One of the questions of this week was inquiring about your name, and if there is a story behind it. Well seeing as I have probably one of the most mispronounced names in the WORLD and there is a little fairy tale behind it I thought I would share. Wanna hear it...here it goes..

My name is Recia Rene`...stumped  yeah it's pronounced Resha...make more sense now? Anywhoo my Mommy is the 6th girl in a family of 8 and she had a few sisters that at times she adored...notice I said a few and at times? One of  her sisters had a best friend that my mother absolutely idolized and the chick was kinda nice to my mom too...I guess?!

So picture this.....you're 8 and on the livingroom floor watching Donny Osmond sing some dreamy song about apples or something. There's a knock at the door, it opens and through the ray of blinding sunshine you hear someone with a slight Irish accent say something to the effect of "Top o'the Morning" (I'm ad libing here..I don't freakin know what she said).The door closes and there is the most angelic beautiful redheaded teenage girl you have ever seen in your ENTIRE life and you just know you're gonna name your first daughter after her and all your Barbies. And that is exactly what my mother did. 

I was named after a redheaded goddess apparently named Resha Anne O'something. She grew up, married an Irishman, had a daughter and named her me. I bet she sometimes wishes she'd have waited till my redheaded sister was born to use up the good name :) BAHAHA there you have it!

While I'm on the subject of marvelous lil me I thought I would take this link as a chance to get out there and get to know some people.

~I'll spend $500 just to save $100, my Hubs is so appreciative *rolls eyes*

~ I was born a Kentuckian and have since been a Californian, Virginian, Texan, and now I'm a Carolinian

~I'm a Boy Scout leader....sorry

So the Moral of the story....I drive too fast, sing too loud, smoke too much and love too deeply, it's just the way I am <3
